This was a delicious meal that did not disappoint. I'm glad we booked this ahead of time, as it did get super busy about halfway through our meal. We sat at the bar/counter, and enjoyed some cold Carlsbergs alongside the rest of the food. Definitely start with the bread and seaweed butter, bread is generally a no-brainer here as it was delicious everywhere we were in Copenhagen. We also had oysters (their invasive ones, which were good AND I felt like I was doing them a favor by eating them), the fish and chips, the baby gem salad, hedgehog mushroom, and the Norwegian halibut. Everything was fresh, well priced, and nicely flavored. If I had to pick favorites...the oysters, mushroom, and halibut. But, get what sounds good and I'm willing to bet you'll leave happy.

KenScale: 8.0/10 Visit: February 2024 While my wife Jun and I planned to do some fine dining during our trip in Copenhagen (ending up with Noma and then Alchemist), we also wanted to make sure we have more casual dining experience, especially in the seafood department. One restaurant that kept coming up on my search for restaurants to check out in the city (and also appeared in one of our favorite food TV shows Somebody Feed Phil) was Kødbyens Fiskebar. It was slightly off the center of the city in an old meatpacking district and took some efforts for us to get there via train on a rainy day, but we ended up having a very leisurely lunch exploring delicious seafood dishes from around the region. After starting with a few oysters (they were just OK, and I was surprised to find most of the four different types we tried were from France), we shared a number of small hot dishes which showcased the restaurant's emphasis on fresh ingredients and solid execution. The grilled scallop from Norway with plum seed and onion flower kicked off our lunch on the right note, and Jun was very fond of the beetroot with radicchio that offered pleasantly crunchy texture. It's hard to mess up steamed blue mussels, but based on the way we quickly finished a rather large bowl with herbs and double cream, the restaurant's version here (the mussels were steamed in apple cider) was a hit. My favorite dish during our lunch was the thinly sliced squid in chicken dashi. The texture of the squid was spot on and worked beautifully with the aromatic broth; I wouldn't have been surprised to see a dish like this at a seafood fine dining restaurant. We didn't need to make a reservation, but the restaurant quickly filled up with a mix of tourists and locals throughout the lunch; it might be a smart idea to book a table in advance if you are looking for prime time dinner seats. The wine list at the restaurant was another pleasant surprise, offering seafood-friendly glass and bottle options from around Europe (including Denmark!). I highly recommend Kødbyens Fiskebar for a very solid seafood-centric meal in Copenhagen. Who says you only need to do fine dining in Copenhagen? You can find plenty of joy and satisfaction from fresh, no-frills seafood offerings.

One of the best meals I had while visiting CPH! We were recommended to dine here and Fiskebar did not disappoint. The service was attentive and kind from our server from the very start. We tried mackerel and razor clams from the raw list, fjordrejer shrimps, mussels and squid from the cooked list. I suggest you try the squid entree, we asked for recommendations from our server and she shared the way the squid is prepared is different from how squid is normally served and what I would expect - she was so right! It was a delightful experience. The restaurant is massive and when busy, there can be a noticeable delay between courses. Our raw menu items were served promptly but after we finished our appetizers our cooked items took some time. They are a very busy establishment with outdoor and indoor seating so make sure to reserve in advance.

Aloha, wow totally worth the walk from the train station. Amazing flavors from the sourdough bread with seaweed butter to the fresh peas on cheese with caviar. Hubby had the 5 types of oysters and razor clams. Such a wonderful array of flavors. Definitely a must do in Copenhagen at the meat packing district. Enjoy!

This fish restaurant is located in the meat market. Great place to eat fresh and tasty seafood and spend a good time. We went on a Saturday night ant the place was packed. We were lucky to get a table. All our seafood dishes (mackerel, blue mussels, squid and scallops) were fresh and delicious. The bread and the cream cheese spread were great as well. Our server was very helpful. The restaurant itself is not nice, but there is a good vibe. You definitely need to come and try the seafood here.

***FOOD: 10 YUMS, RUN & BOOK a table to eat at this edgey seafood restaurant in a sketchy part of town in the former Meatpacking district. Scrumptious food in sketchy part of town with all the character of warehouses & rollicking eateries and port side bars. Let's just the area is gentrifying. Restaurant has the distinction of having Michelin Guide Food rating. Absolutely creative and delish food. FISH PIE - although it's two mini tartlet-like pies it was the most delicious deconstructed fish pie I have ever had, so creative 10 Yums and a must try; SCALLOPS- WOW beautiful presentation, the butter foam was absolute perfection, scallops were cooked perfectly; ASPARAGUS & SEAWEED COVERED POTATOES -potatoes were differently delicious, asparagus was OK; HALIBUT-simply and perfectly cooked, so delicious; TURBOT -was surprised that it came whole on the bone with the head on, difficult to eat, picking out bones, not my favorite dish in this place, you would think they could do something a little bit more. WILDFLOWERS DESSERT - sort of sponge cake with a polkadot font on top and some sort of jam in between wasn't necessarily my favorite;BREAD - so delicious Had to get a second basket. **COST (OUT OF 4$) $$$ expensive but oh so good **DÉCOR: rustic warehouse type fish, seafood restaurant, lots of parking, a walk through the warehouse district from the metro * **SERVICE: prompt professional, food came out steadily. Service was definitely on point * **RECOMMEND: definitely book your table and eat here. We'll be back. HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Every time I am in Copenhagen, I make sure to stop at Fiskebar. Always fresh, seasonal and delicious. Great wine selections. Good vibe and everyone speak English. My only little complaint I have, as a Japanese person, is I don't enjoy the dishes influenced heavily by Japanese cuisine.
